After the protests against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati escalated and Deepika Padukone received death threats from fringe groups, several female actors rallied in support of Dippy. They include Shabana Azmi, who is spearheading the drive, besides Jaya Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vidya Balan, Anushka Sharma and Parineeti Chopra among others. Those in the know say that when Kangana Ranaut was asked, she refused. Kangy has her reasons. One, she does not consider DP a pal.
