Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has weighed in on the controversy surrounding DMK leader and Leader of the Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin, who was detained by police following his alleged remarks about actor Trisha Krishnan during a public rally in Tamil Nadu.

The controversy erupted after Udhayanidhi, a former actor, gave a speech at a political gathering that drew criticism, with the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) filing complaints with the police as well as the National Commission for Women (NCW) because he made a double-meaning remark about actor Trisha. On Tuesday morning, the DMK leader was arrested by Chennai Police before later being released following directions from the Madras High Court.
