Filmmaker Karan Johar, who attended the Cannes International Film Festival last year, misses being a part of the gala event this year.

"Missed being at Cannes this year... the energy... is infectious... it's truly a great blend of cinema and glamour," Johar posted on his Twitter page.

This year stars like Aishwarya Rai, Mallika Sherawat, Deepika Padukone and Shekhar Kapur are making the Indian presence felt at the festival that kickstarted May 12.
