Ranbir Kapoor plays the character of Ayan (was he named after his bestie, director Ayan Mukerji, who is also KJo&rsquo;s prot&eacute;g&eacute; ?) while Anushka&rsquo;s character is Alizeh (that&rsquo;s also the name of Alvira Khan and Atul Agnihotri&rsquo;s daughter).
Moreover, KJo has emphasised that his film is not about the conflict in their romantic saga.
