Karan Johar has finally agreed to the script of the remake of Agneepath, but he will not be directing it. That honour has gone to another Karan, Karan Malhotra who helped KJo direct Myu00a0 Name Is Khan. Meanwhile, KJo says that the remake is not a scene by scene adaptation. The new version will be a restructured one.

KJo also clarified that he has not approached Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor for the principal roles. He was waiting for the script to be completed first. Now that the script is ready, the casting will begin soon.
