Karan Tacker makes his Cannes debut with Tanvi: The Great; set to return as a spy in Special Ops 2
Karan Tacker
Karan Tacker can’t stop smiling after attending the world première of his first theatrical film, Tanvi: The Great, at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. It also marks the actor’s debut appearance at the festival. “It’s exciting to represent India and a film that’s true to its origin on a platform like this. It was nerve-wracking to showcase our film to a large audience, but still a proud moment for me and the entire team,” says the actor.

Directed by Anupam Kher, Tanvi: The Great also stars Shubhangi Dutt, Arvind Swami, and Scottish actor Iain Glen. Tacker says Kher’s extensive acting experience shaped his directorial style. “He’s a sensitive director. He understands where an actor is coming from,” he adds.
Tacker is also set to reprise his role as intelligence officer Farooqi in Neeraj Pandey’s Special Ops 2. He admits the wait for the second edition — shot over a year ago — has been long. “I love the universe of spies, espionage and action. While being very tough to shoot, action is also exciting and it gives you a rush. Collaborating with Neeraj and Kay Kay [Menon] always feels like coming home,” he shares.
