You won't get a deja vu of Manoj Kumar's Upkaar when you watch Kisaan. All comparisons to the former fall flat in this tale of an oppressed farmer family seeking revenge from a landlord forcing them to sell their land.
What's it about: You won't get a deja vu of Manoj Kumar's Upkaar when you watch Kisaan. All comparisons to the former fall flat in this tale of an oppressed farmer family seeking revenge from a landlord forcing them to sell their land.
Dayal Singh (Jackie Shroff) fathers two children Jigar (Sohail) who's a village bumpkin and Aman (Arbaaz) who makes it as a lawyer in town. Sohan Seth (Dalip Tahil) a vicious businessman puts cracks in Dayal's family when he tries to sell their land for his own interests.
The story translates into rich man-poor man battle with the two brothers clashing their ideologies and fighting for different causes.

What's hot: There is certain earnestness in the characters of Kisaan that is likeable. Both Sohail and Arbaaz are honest and diligent in their approach, playing two diametrically opposite roles. Sohail's intro and Arbaaz's change of nature are well portrayed. The village setting and atmosphere works well in the first half.
