Kruti Mahesh: ‘Meri Jaan’ from 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' was a one shot song

National award winning choreographer Kruti Mahesh, in a conversation with mid-day.com, spoke about working on 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Alia Bhatt and Shantanu Maheshwari.

Kruti says, “As a choreographer on Sanjay sir’s set, I’m just a channel for his execution. There are so many ways of executing a particular moment be it love, anger or frustration. Maybe something that I do is not the way you perceive it but coming to that one point where everyone enjoys it is beautiful. Only Sanjay sir could have thought of these things. There was a lot of back and forth but ‘Meri Jaan’ was a one shot song, there were no cuts. You can only attempt something like this with a director like Sanjay sir and actors of the capability of Alia and Shantanu.”
