Madhuri Dixit and Rajinikanth

Madhuri Dixit shared the screen with superstar Rajinikanth in the 1987 film 'Uttar Dakshin'. The two actors recently reunited and captured the moment on camera. Dixit shared the picture on Instagram and recalled a happy memory with the South superstar. In the picture, Dixit's husband DR Sriram Nene also accompanied them. The picture seems to have been clicked at the India vs New Zealand semi-final match at Wankhede stadium on November 15.

Sharing the picture, Dixit shared, "Keh do Uttar waalo se Dakshin waale aagye” This was a song from our movie Uttar Dakshin".

"I remember during the shoot Rajnikanth Ji always spoke to me in Marathi and whenever we meet, he always remembers Uttar Dakshin. What an inspiration and what a human being. It was fabulous catching up with Rajnikant Ji #Thalaivar. I am always amazed at how kind, humble and respectful he is," he added.

Uttar Dakshin is a 1987 Hindi-language film. The story writer is Subhash Ghai. It stars Rajinikanth, Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit, and Bharti in lead roles. Laxmikant Pyarelal composed the music, while Anand Bakshi wrote the lyrics for the film.

The film follows the story of  Raja who learns that his father is alive, and befriends Shankran, his step-brother, in order to steal his property. However, Shankran's mother soon discovers the truth. The film has borrowed the story from Yash Chopra's classic film 'Trishul'. Jackie Shroff, Rajinikanth, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda play the respective roles played by Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, and Sanjeev Kumar in 'Trishul'. Subhash Ghai has assisted in filming it.

Meanwhile, Madhuri and her husband took to their Instagram handles to congratulate Team India after their semi-final win against New Zealand. They shared a series of pictures in a video. In the pictures, they can be seen posing with Anushka Sharma, Rajinikanth, David Beckham, Vicky Kaushal, and Kunal Kemmu, with some pictures of Virat Kohli and their own clicks. The caption reads, And there u have it. Congrats #TeamIndia. What a fabulous showing by our boys in Blue. Nice way to end #Shami. Congrats to @virat.kohli for back to back centuries and 50 ODI centuries overall, and breaking the Master Blaster's record. Hats off to @shreyasiyer96 for great batting. We loved the game today!
