A good role model is the key to success. Actor Mahie Gill is well aware of this and is looking at late actress Smita Patil for inspiration. Mahie, who is part of Tigmanshu Dhulia's period drama, is busy surfing through the legendary actress' films.

Says the Dev D girl, "I play the role of a rebellious runner's wife, who is a devoted, na ve village girl.

To prepare for this role, I went through Smita Patil's films, as no other actress can or has portrayed the simplicity and raw appeal of a rural woman, the way she could." Mahie, we wait with crossed fingers to see if you make Smita proud!
