Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar has reacted to online criticism surrounding a scene from her song Kufar featuring Diljit Dosanjh, which recently sparked controversy. The actress clarified that she was not part of the shot in question and urged fans to refrain from disrespecting the performer seen in the frame.

Netizens slam viral shot in Kufar


A viral shot from the latest Kufar music video shows Dosanjh standing behind a woman who lifts her legs as the lyrics, "Jannat de darwaze kudiye (the doors to heaven)", play. The scene attracted huge criticism. The controversy escalated quickly, and the video clip became a talking point on social media. Since, Manushi is the lead in the video it was assumed that the leg shot was hers.



Manushi responds to Kufar controversy

Addressing the issue on X, Manushi clarified that she is not involved in the viral shot but also asked people to not disrespect the dancer in the frame. “Not mine #iykyk. But can we please not disrespect the dancer who was simply doing her job," she said. Her composed response earned praise from fans, with many lauding her maturity and dignity in handling online negativity.

This is not the first time Manushi has taken the high road in response to trolling. Previously, she had calmly addressed a user questioning her film career, emphasizing self-assurance over confrontation. The actress continues to be admired for her poise and balanced approach, choosing empathy over outrage in the face of social media criticism.

Diljit Dosanjh reacts to backlash 

Dosanjh also addressed the controversy directly during a live session on Instagram. Talking about the scene, Diljit said he was just standing in the frame as instructed.  "Bruh, mai ta othe khada si aase paase pata ni ki challi janda si (Bro, I was just standing there I didn’t even know what was going on around me!)," he said on social media. 

Despite the criticism over its choreography, the song Kufar has continued to trend across music platforms since its release. Audience reactions have been mixed, with some praising the music and others focusing on the contentious video moment.
