He might be just another star kid around, but he is all set to start a new score. Here's introducing the new bachcha on the block, Azaan Sami, Adnan Sami's 15-year-old son who is debuting as a composer in an upcoming children's film.

As the release date draws closer, I am feeling nervous, responsible and excited, all at the same time. There are times when I can't understand these mixed emotions, but no matter what happens, I'll always stay down-to-earth.

Young and restless

This is a dream come true for me. I first composed music when I was only five. Then one day I told my dad that I wanted to be a part of the music industry. He explained to me that he would help me make an entry but thereafter, I would be on my own. I concede that being a star kid has been an added advantage, but I wouldn't have gotten selected if my work wasn't good enough. No one would sign me on just because because I am Adnan Sami's son. My music has to be up to the mark too.

Dad knows best

My father is my idol, my guru. He has been a great inspiration throughout my life. My music is my father's gift to me but my style is uniquely mine. I have stayed away from my dad for a good 10 years and it was a boon in disguise as it helped me create my own identity.

My playlist

I have grown up listening to all kinds of music. During my lessons, I was exposed to a lot of western classical music which I fell in love with. Then I started listening to Indian classical and loved that too.

Some songs you will always find on my i-Pod are Down by Jay Sean, Sway by Dean Martin, Pag Ghungroo by Bappi dau00a0u00a0 and many Indian and western classical songs. Sometimes when I am with friends, they tell me not to play songs from my I-pod because they are too old and outdated.
