Rani Mukerji spent her Sunday chasing clues and nabbing suspects. The actress and her body double were spotted at Horniman Circle shooting for Pradeep Sarkar&rsquo;s film, 'Mardaani', till late evening.

The actress, who essays a no-nonsense cop in the flick, had her double step in when some of the scenes got a tad too rough for her to handle.

Says an onlooker, &ldquo;The sequence being shot had Rani&rsquo;s character trying to catch a biker. As it was a Sunday, the area was deserted, but as soon as the unit set up their cameras, people came in droves to get a glimpse of the star.&rdquo;
The onlooker adds, &ldquo;At times, the crowd was confused about who they saw in the frame &mdash; Rani or her body double. Even when they were together, we had to look twice at their faces to guess who among the two was Rani.&rdquo;
After the shoot, Rani was spotted taking snapshots of the director on the sets.
Last seen in 'Bombay Talkies', 'Mardaani' &mdash; where Rani plays a cop &mdash; is considered to be the actress&rsquo; most challenging role. The film is produced by her alleged beau, Aditya Chopra. As part of her preparation for the role, she even visited the Mumbai police&rsquo;s crime branch office in December, where she got an insight into their working patterns.
