Metal music legend Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025 at the age of 76. The singer and songwriter's death has left many mourning the loss of the legend. Triutes have been pouring in from celebrities and fans, including Indian celebs like Ranveer Singh, Vir Das, Adnan Sami, among others.

Ozzy Osbourne passes away


Ozzy reportedly breathed his last on Tuesday, July 22, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. His family issued an official statement following his death, which read, "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."



Back in January 2020, after two years of escalating health problems, Osbourne had announced that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Later in February 2023, the singer issued a statement revealing that he was retiring from touring, due to the spinal injuries he had sustained in a 2018 accident.

Interestingly, just two weeks ago, Ozzy performed at what was being called Black Sabbath's final concert, a festival titled Back to the Beginning, held in Birmingham, England. The same place that is Ozzy and the band's hometown. The event paid a grand tribute to the legendary group, and also featured performances and tributes from Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Slayer, Tool, Pantera, Alice in Chains, and more.

Celebrities mourn his death

Soon after the news broke, social media was flooded with tributes and condolence messages. Apart from his bandmates and others from the metal music scene, several other celebrities and fans also mourned Ozzy's passing away on social media channels. The Dhurandhar star took to Instagram stories to express his sorrow by sharing a picture of Ozzy  on his Instagram story. With that, he added broken heart, folded hand and a guitar emoji. Stand-up comedian and actor Vir Das also paid his tribute by sharing a photo of the late singer on Instagram. He also penned an emotional note that read, "Shed many tears. Go on home prince. thank you for the soundtrack to many great moments in my life. Ozzy."

In the comments section of Vir's post, actor Prateik Smita Patil wrote, "Prince of darkness forever" Singer Adnan Sami also took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to pay his respects. He wrote, "Ozzy Osbourne… RIP.."

International celebs like Jason Momoa, Adam Sandler and David Beckham, among others, also shared emotional posts to honour the rock legend.
