In an interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Rawal opened up about Akshay Kumar and Manoj joining hands as the male leads and said, “It’ll make for a different and unique combination.” The veteran actor then also added, “However, we’ll miss Govinda.” When asked why Govinda isn’t a part of Bhagam Bhag 2, Paresh Rawal replied, “I have genuinely no idea.”

Paresh Rawal also confirmed an exclusive development to the portal. The actor said that he would feature in a double role in Bhagam Bhag 2. He revealed, “I am excited. Maza aayega. Dhamaal hoga!”

This is not the first time that Paresh Rawal will play dual roles in a film. He has earlier played dual roles in Platform (1993), Andaz Apna Apna (1994), Janam Kundli (1995), and Chor Machaye Shor (2002).

More about Bhagam Bhag 2

As per a report in Variety, “Manoj Bajpayee has joined Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal in Bhagam Bhag 2. He has been brought on board in place of Govinda. The sequel is said to have a fresh storyline centred on mistaken identities, comedy of errors, and escalating chaos, delivering a thrilling madcap adventure while staying true to the spirit of the original. Shooting begins next month in Mumbai.”

Bhagam Bhag 2 marks the Hindi theatrical film debut of Meenakshi Chaudhary; her other Hindi film, Upstarts (2019), was directly released on Netflix. While the original 2006 film was directed by Priyadarshan, Bhagam Bhag 2 will be helmed by Raaj Shaandilyaa of Dream Girl (2019) fame.

Apart from this, he is rumoured to reprise the role of Baburao in Hera Pheri 3. However, the film is currently in legal soup.
