Features in My Name Is Khan

Parvin Dabas begins anew in B-Town with Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan. Not may know that the actor is also part of the Shah Rukh-Kajol starrer and shot for it in its US schedule.

Says Parvin, "Yes, I am part of the project. But I can't reveal about my character. All I can say is that when you are approached for a Karan Johar film you don't say 'what' but 'where'."

Parvin received a call from Dharma Productions for the role. He didn't know KJo and had only met him casually before so it was a pleasant surprise when he was asked to be part of the project.

Enjoying the role

Adds the actor, "When I sign a film, I don't think what the role will do for me. It is important that I enjoy the role. I am happy that I was part of Monsoon Wedding and Khosla Ka Ghosla both are cult films in their own way."

Apart from acting, Parvin is also passionate about underwater photography. Three years ago he had an exhibition of his snapshots in Mumbai and later at Chennai as well.

He says, "Underwater photography is a passion but I don't indulge in it when I am shooting or in the course of doing a film. I don't want it to be distracting. It is reserved for my free days."

Intuitive passion

In December, he spent time off the Egyptian coast in the Red Sea indulging in his passion. "It is intuitive; I don't go out with my camera with the aim that I will be holding an exhibition or anything.
