Actor Preity Zinta has secured significant interim relief from the Bombay High Court after it directed the immediate removal of AI-generated deepfakes, morphed images, fake videos and other unauthorised digital content using her identity. According to PTI, the court observed that such misuse infringes upon an individual's fundamental rights and highlighted the responsibility of online intermediaries in preventing the spread of such material.

Preity Zinta's plea turns out in favour

The order was passed by Justice Madhav Jamdar while hearing Zinta's plea seeking protection of her personality, publicity and moral rights. The actor had approached the court alleging that several websites and online platforms were circulating manipulated visuals, AI-generated content and chatbot-style interactions featuring her without consent, causing harm to her reputation and commercial interests.
