Follow five of the chicest trends designers and stylists are raving about and steal hearts this season
Fashion designer Coco Chanel once famously remarked, &ldquo;Fashion fades, only style remains the same&rdquo;. No arguments there. Fashion weeks are long over and amid the whirlwind of trends that we got to witness, we bring you five of the most chic ones. Make them a part of your wardrobe.

Trend: Thigh-high slits Occasion: Sunday brunch, party

How to wear: Ever since Angelina Jolie exposed her never-ending legs in an Atelier Versace thigh-high slit gown at the Oscars, this daringly sexy trend has made a comeback. Although it involves a lot of skin show, it can actually be very elegant if the slit isn&rsquo;t too high, risking an awful wardrobe malfunction. Done just right, a thigh-high slit dress can be incorporated in a day outfit (think beach, Sunday brunch) as easily as it can be in an evening or cocktail dress. &ldquo;Thighhigh slits are amazingly chic, but can only be carried off if one has a pair of well-toned legs. I would not recommend it to those who have either too chubby or too lanky legs. Slip into trendy flats for a brunch look and sky-high heels for an evening look,&rdquo; suggests celebrity stylist Tanya Ghavri. Fashion designer Nikhil Thampi finds the thigh-high slit a tricky trend that needs to be carried off with a lot of confidence. &ldquo;It has a certain red-carpet feel to it. Pair this look with high-heeled stilettos and a lovely hairdo to create that perfect red carpet look,&rdquo; he says.
Trend: Fringed accessories Occasion: Casual

How to wear: From Bollywood style diva Deepika Padukone to American hottie Vanessa Hudgens, we have seen fashionistas carry off fringes with utmost finesse. From jackets to tops to shoes to bags, fringes have a hint of casual-cool. Throw a suede fringe bag or a pair of fringed boots on a leather biker jacket or a flapper skirt for a casualyet- edgy look. Tasselled tops and gowns with embellished bottom fringes are also making a dramatic style statement this season. &ldquo;One can simply wear a plain black tank top and pair it with a fringe bag and suede fringe ankle-length boots for a gypsy-girl look. Go easy on the outfit and let the fringed accessories stand out,&rdquo; opines Ghavri. If you are not confident enough to try out a fringed dress, start with a bag. It&rsquo;s safer and you just can&rsquo;t go wrong with it.
Trend: Neon Occasion: At the beach, brunches and parties

How to wear: It is important to get the colour combination right for a neon outfit to stand out. For instance, an off-white top can be paired with a bright and bold neon orange skirt or a simple Little Black Dress (LBD) can be teamed up with a neon satchel or clutch. When it comes to swimsuits, you can go as bold as you want by colour blocking two or more neon shades. &ldquo;Hues of neon are back in vogue this season, be it floral patterns or loud primary shades. Neon is generally classified as daywear but if teamed with the right accessories, they can translate into evening wear as well,&rdquo; says Thampi. If you have never tried the colour, start with the minimal. Jazz up a simple white jumpsuit with a sleek neon belt, earrings or shoes. To create a perfect balance, try to use neon accessories
Trend: Cut-outs Occasion: Evening galas, summer getaway

How to wear: Channel your naughty sense of fashion and play a little peek-a-boo with the season&rsquo;s hottest trend, the cut-out. Bridge the gap between overexposure and sophisticated chic in cut-out tops and dresses that show off your best features. If you have an enviable waist, opt for a flirty side cut-out dress or go bold with a bare midriff. Ghavri, who has styled Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor among others, thinks that the cut-out dress is an outfit that can be easily styled and worn, both day and night. &ldquo;Cut-outs are really versatile and convenient for women who love to have fun with fashion. A cute cut-out sundress paired with gladiator sandals and a shoulder cut-out jacket can be a great day outfit that can be easily turned into a night outfit by slipping into a pair of heels,&rdquo; she says.
Trend: Sequins Occasion: Party

How to wear: Flashy, luminous and ultra sexy, sequinned fashion is here to stay. Brighten any outfit by simply adding a bit of bling in the form of sequins. Educate yourself on how much bling is too much bling and style your outfit accordingly. Pair sequin trousers with a solid shirt for a sophisticated look. For a sequinned bodycon dress, keep accessories to a minimum. Always pair sequins with toned down, warm shades such as beige, black, white or tan. A sequinned blazer with a solid hued vest or shirt inside and a pair of distress denims can be quite a head-turner. Ghavri, who experimented with sequins in the diffusion line she showcased at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/ Festive 2014, says that even daywear can feature sequinned embroideries. Fashion designer Varun Bahl agrees. &ldquo;The secret lies in pairing sequinned designs with understated pieces like a plain jacket, or simple trousers,&rdquo; he adds.
