On Monday, the actress issued a statement on social media, clarifying that she has no connection with the ongoing Income Tax department search into alleged irregularities linked to overseas film funds. The statement comes days after tax officials reportedly conducted searches at 12 premises concerning individuals and entities linked to film producer Vashu Bhagnani and Panorama Studios.

She wrote, "It's heartbreaking to see that there's a growing trend amongst the self-styled online reporters and some mainstream media journalists to sensationalise the news without verifying facts."
