Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana has landed in a copyright protection battle following its theatrical release on November 5. The Bombay High Court has directed internet service providers and digital platforms to take down pirated links and content related to the film within three hours. The order comes amid several clips from the mythological epic surfacing online.
Bombay HC directs takedown of content
The Bombay High Court on Friday directed internet service providers (ISPs) and digital platforms to take down pirated content/links of the film Ramayana within a strict three-hour window. The court further instructed the platforms and ISPs to share the contact details of their designated nodal officers to ensure that complaints are addressed without unnecessary delays. This will help the makers reach the right people quickly whenever they find an illegal copy of the film online. They have also been asked to confirm in writing that they will comply with the directions.
