On July 2, social media was abuzz as an 11-second video featuring Ranbir Kapoor started doing the rounds, with many claiming that it was leaked footage from the asset of Ramayana: Part 1 that was showcased at CinemaCon 2026. Soon, the makers of the Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash-starrer sprang into action, deploying its anti-piracy partners to remove the content through takedown notices.
According to sources, a part of the footage being circulated widely on X, Reddit, and other platforms was not authentic. A source revealed, “Our team is actively monitoring the internet and getting the material removed. Some elements of the 11-second video are AI-generated, while some glimpses of the film have been morphed and used. In any case, the team doesn’t want any look to be out yet. Glimpses, even the AI-generated ones, take away from the film’s vision.”
