Ranveer Singh's upcoming film Pralay has landed in controversy after its shoot at Mumbai's Azad Maidan reportedly disrupted scheduled interschool cricket matches. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has expressed displeasure over the permission granted to the makers, questioning the use of a cricket ground for commercial filming. The association has also written to the Deputy Director of Sports over the issue.
Pralay shoot sparks disturbance
As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, the Government of Maharashtra’s Sports Department granted the makers of Pralay permission to shoot in Azad Maidan for six hours. This angered the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) as it disrupted the schedule of Under-14 and Under-16 interschool cricket matches. The report further claimed that due to Pralay’s shoot, the MCA was compelled to postpone the matches even though it was planned in advance.
