A few weeks ago, it was reported that the title of Priyadarshan's next with Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar is Haiwaan. The filmmaker has once again confirmed the project as his two male leads were spotted together at the Lord's cricket ground in the UK. Saif and Akshay Kumar's reunion sparked memories of their past iconic pairings. Akshay and Saif were last seen together in the 2008 film Tashan, which also starred Kareena Kapoor. Previously, the two actors have collaborated on several hit films, including the cult classic Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Yeh Dillagi (1994), Tu Chor Main Sipahi (1996), and Keemat (1998).

Interestingly, Priyadarshan recently wrapped his next with Akshay Kumar titled Bhooth Bangla. The film marks their reunion after 14 years. They will also be uniting for Hera Pheri 3 that will bring back the OG cast.

About Haiwaan

Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar's upcoming collaboration has been named Haiwaan, meaning 'beast' in English. According to a source from a leading news portal, "The team felt this describes their subject the best, and conveys exactly how Priyadarshan sees it - as an edge-of-the-seat thriller. There were other titles in contention, but this one clicked unanimously, given the characters the lead actors play."

Haiwaan is expected to go on the floors next month, that is, August 2025. The makers are eyeing a grand release of the film in 2026. This film will mark their first collaboration in 17 years, which has made the audience super excited to see the two stalwarts come together. It would be interesting to see how the two bring their individual energies under Priyadarshan's directorial lens.

The project was announced earlier in May 2025. Sources close to the development had told Hindustan Times, “Akshay and Saif have always enjoyed working with each other and admired each other’s work. The moment they read the script, they knew they were on board." They further added, "It’s a nail-biting and entertaining thriller film. Helmed by Priyadarshan, it will leave the audience on the edge of their seats!”
