Saif Ali Khan regrets doing Cocktail, calls it a 'slightly regressive script choice'

Throughout his career, Saif Ali Khan has experimented with a wide range of roles, with Imtiaz Ali's Cocktail being one of the films that stood out during an interesting phase of his career. Released in 2012, the romantic comedy starred Saif alongside Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty, who essayed Veronica and Meera, respectively. Years later, the actor shared what made him say yes to the film and take on the role of Gautam.

In a conversation with Gulf News, Saif Ali Khan called doing Cocktail a 'mistake' and explained that he came on board as a lead actor because he was producing the film and wanted to make sure it got completed. He said, “I did the part because we were producing it; it was an inevitable mistake, 100 per cent that was a mistake, and that was a slightly regressive script choice. Otherwise, it was a breezy, fun entertainer."
