After Sikandar, Salman Khan is gearing up for the biographical drama Battle of Galwan, which is set to release this year. Amid the shoot, reports are rife that he is all set to collaborate with director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K.. If reports are to be believed, the superstar is in talks to headline a high-concept superhero comedy that promises to blend action with the directors’ signature quirky humour.
Salman Khan in Raj and DK’s next
As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, sources claim, “Salman Khan will be seen as a superhero who wants to hang up his cape and retire from saving the world, having grown weary of doing the same thing on repeat. But circumstances refuse to let him live in peace and keep pulling him back into action time and again, eventually pushing him into a larger conflict. The narrative blends broad comedy with superhero beats — essentially, a high-concept superhero comedy.”
“Salman’s concern is the budget. He has asked Raj and DK to develop it with the right budget in mind, as Salman is in no mood to do an expensive superhero film. The director duo is working on the script, keeping Salman Khan’s character traits in mind,” the source further informed.
A narration between Salman Khan and Raj and DK is expected to take place in April 2026. “He is excited about the film, and if all goes well, it will go on floors in November 2026. It is produced by Mythri Productions with Reel Life Entertainment.”
Salman Khan upcoming movies
Battle of Galwan will chronicle the India-China military clash that took place in June 2020, with Khan stepping into the shoes of Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu. The soldier was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra in 2021. The Apoorva Lakhia-directed war drama is currently in post-production, with reports claiming the release will be rescheduled.
The film promises an unflinching portrayal of bravery, sacrifice, and resilience. It also stars Chitrangada Singh in a pivotal role. Several other performers play important roles in the film, including Zeyn Shaw, Ankur Bhatia, Abhilash Chaudhary, Vipin Bhardwaj, and Heera Sohal.
The actor had taken a brief break from the shoot last month after his father, veteran writer Salim Khan, was hospitalised. Salim is now on the path to recovery, and Salman has returned to work. Pictures of the actor posing with members of the film’s cast have gone viral.
