Recalling how he got onboard, Shaad shares, "I got a call from Mukesh Chhabra's office, and they told me that Sooraj ji was looking to cast. And then Mukesh bhai called me and he said, 'You meet him.' I said, 'I don't have to meet or listen to anything. I'm on. I just want to work with Sooraj ji'."

He further adds, "So far we've shot for a couple of days, and it's been a great experience working with him. It's very, very enriching, a very spiritual experience, actually. I don't know how to describe it. Actors who have worked with him would understand what I'm trying to say. It's a beautiful experience to be directed by him."

When asked about his role in the film, he revealed, "It is very different from what I have so far done."

Shaad reflects on how the perception of the audience has changed

The actor also reflected on how cinema and audience have changed; he notes how villains were viewed differently back in the day. There was a typecast that came along, he admits. On the contrary, he says, "It's very character-driven now. The audience has changed, the taste has changed. People have been exposed to different kinds of cinema, world cinema, because of OTT. People see content from all over the world. And over a period of time, that notion has changed."

The Saiyaara actor further explains, "Like earlier, you would get typecast. If you do a particular kind of part, then you would be doing that part for a very long time, and it would be very difficult to break that typecast. But I think now, you know, everybody knows. Everybody is far more astute, I would like to say, and far more knowledgeable. Whether it's the audience or whether it's within the film industry, they now realise that it's not necessary that if an actor does a particular part well, then he cannot do the other."

"So that's a good thing. It's a time when there are no boundaries. You can be cast in whatever they envision you as. And that's what people's perspectives have changed," he concludes.
