Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has expressed his desire to portray veteran actor-filmmaker Guru Dutt in a biopic.

Guru Dutt was known for helming classics like 'Pyaasa', 'Kaagaz Ke Phool', 'Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam' and 'Chaudhvin Ka Chand'. He died at the age of 39.
An editor of a leading entertainment magazine tweeted about his wish to have Shah Rukh Khan play Guru Dutt on screen, saying he will be the best to show "anger, romance, devastation," all which is said to be a huge part of the filmmaker's tragic life.
To which, the 50-year-old 'Dilwale' actor replied, "Absolutely. I should do it. And as you lovingly say my friend my face is like a beautiful poem... in black &amp; white."
Even after 52 years of Dutt's demise, his work is referred as a benchmark for quality filmmaking.
