After Deepika Padukone's look from 'Padmavati' sent fans into tizzy, makers have now unveiled Shahid Kapoor's look as Maharawal Ratan Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama. Two new posters of 'Padmavati' featuring Shahid Kapoor have been released and the Bollywood actor looks every bit a royal warrior. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali -- known for his grand period dramas -- 'Padmavati' also features Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.

'Padmavati' tells the story of Alauddin Khilji, the medieval-era Delhi ruler who fell in love with Rajput queen Padmavati.

The Shri Rajput Karni Sena, an organisation of the Rajput community, on Saturday burnt posters here of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much-awaited 'Padmavati' which is slated for a December 1 release.

A group of protesters gathered in front of Rajmandir Cinema Hall and shouted slogans against Bhansali and burnt posters of the film.

The movie's shoot went through a lot of hurdles.

In January, activists of outfit Shri Rajput Karni Sena had assaulted Bhansali and vandalised the movie's Jaipur set over alleged distortions in the film's script.

Later, once the filmmaker had moved the film's shoot to Maharashtra, an outdoor set of the historic period drama in Kohlapur was reduced to ashes after two dozen unidentified persons torched it in March.

Ending rumours of the film's release being pushed to next year, the makers have announced that 'Padmavati' will hit the screens on December 1, 2017.

We bet fans can't wait for the first look of Ranveer Singh! Keep watching this space!
