Actress Sadia Khateeb recently created history by becoming the first Bollywood actress to shoot inside Vietnam’s Son Doong Cave. Notably, it is the largest cave in the world and widely known to be one of the most dangerous natural environments on the planet. She shot parts of her upcoming film Silaa in the cave. 

Sadia Khateeb shoots for four days in Vietnam’s Son Doong Cave


Sadia, along with her crew, spent four days inside the cave without a network, electricity, or washroom facilities. They went through extreme humidity, complete darkness, and fearful silences throughout the four days. According to experts, shooting in Son Doong is extremely tough and it can be life-threatening. The cave is usually explored only by trained adventurers with special permissions, which makes Sadia's shoot all the more extraordinary and challenging.  



For her achievement, The Diplomat actress was honoured with a medal and certificate as recognition. The actress shared photos from the experience on her Instagram to celebrate the moment with her fans.

Sharing her experience, Sadia wrote, "Grateful beyond words to Omung Sir for choosing me as Silaa and giving me the experience of a lifetime, being part of the first feature film ever shot inside Vietnam’s Son Doong Cave. We’re among the first 100 Indians to enter this natural wonder, and this makes me feel so proud and elated."

About Silaa

The shoot was part of Sadia Khateeb’s upcoming action film Silaa, co-starring Harshvardhan Rane. In a bold new avatar, Silaa marks an exciting new chapter in Sadia's journey as an actor. Directed by Omung Kumar, a National Award-winning filmmaker known for blending strong visuals with emotional storytelling. Silaa is an intense action romance with layered characters and high-stakes drama. Zee Studios presents the Blue Lotus Pictures and Stark Entertainment production in association with Innovations India, produced by Omung Kumar, Umesh KR Bansal, Pragati Deshmukh, Himanshu Tiwari, Ajay Singh, Dhananjay Singh, Abhishek Ankur, Captain Rahul Bali, and co-produced by Rahhat Shah Kazmi. Silaa will be a theatrical release.

Sadia had previously said that she is extremely thrilled to be getting on this journey and wants to give her "bestest" to filmmaker Omung Kumar's vision.
The makers recently unveiled Sadia's character poster from Silaa revealing a raw and intense avatar that hints at the depth and grit of her character. Talking about the upcoming film, she said: "I am beyond grateful and extremely thrilled to be getting on this journey. Thanks to the visionary director Omung sir, who could see me playing his Silaa.I just want to give my bestest to his vision." "I hope I am able to deliver what's beyond expected." (sic)
