Palak Muchhal is no longer only interpreting someone else’s melody. With her new single, Aayi Teri Baat Mein, she has served as the lyricist, composer, and singer while also featuring in its video.

In the Hindi film industry, music composition continues to be largely male-dominated. As she takes the creative leap, Muchhal believes the decision wasn’t born out of a desire to change perceptions. “This song happened organically. I have always been deeply involved with music beyond just singing, but Aayi Teri Baat Mein felt special because I have written, composed, sung it, and danced in it. So, there are many firsts,” she said.
