Suhail Nayyar has joined Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana as Sugriva. The film, led by Ranbir Kapoor, continues to expand its star-studded cast as filming progresses. It's first part is all set to release in November 2026

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is unarguably one of the most anticipated films of the year. Mounting one of Indian mythology’s most revered epics on an unprecedented scale, the film boasts a massive ensemble cast led by three giants: Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash. While we await the release, news about the cast getting bigger has excited fans. After Faisal Malik, Single Papa fame Suhail Nayyar has joined the cast of the magnum opus.

As per a report in Variety, Suhail Nayyar has now joined the cast. He is playing the role of Sugriva, the righteous brother of Vali. A source confirmed to the portal, saying, “He is indeed on board and has begun his shoot for the same. The filming of the movie is in full swing, and post-production is also happening at the same time. The team is working round the clock to ensure it hits theatres on time.”
For those unversed, in the epic Ramayana, Sugriva becomes the ruler of the kingdom of Kishkindha after Lord Rama slays Vali. He is also mentioned as a son of Surya Dev (the Sun God).
Talking about Suhail, he is an FTII graduate and made his big-screen debut with Udta Punjab in 2016. He played a pivotal role in Rishi Kapoor’s Sharmaji Namkeen, which streamed on Amazon Prime. Apart from this, he has been a part of several series, including Jee Karda, Murder Mubarak, Saare Jahan Se Accha, Single Papa, among others.

Recently, it was reported that Faisal Malik has joined the cast as Kumbhkaran. Apart from him, Raghav Juyal has also been roped in to play Meghnad.
Billed as the biggest-ever Indian film, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Yash as Ravana, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. The ensemble cast also includes Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil, Indira Krishnan, Sheeba Chadha, Adinath Kothare, and Kunal Kapoor, among others.
A few days back, mid-day reported that the first character posters of the film will be unveiled at a grand event on Ram Navami. However, the plans have been postponed due to West Asia tensions.
