The postponement of music composer Palaash Muchhal and cricketer Smriti Mandhana's wedding has already created a lot of discussion; now there's another update. Shrinivas Mandhana, Smriti's father, has reportedly been discharged from the hospital. However, despite his improving health, the wedding is currently on hold, and there hasn't been any update on the postponement.

Smriti Mandhana's father gets discharged

According to India TV, Smriti's father, Shrinivas, was released from Sarvhit Hospital on November 25. He was admitted to the hospital after experiencing symptoms similar to a heart attack on Sunday (November 23). Palash and Smriti were supposed to get married on November 23. He was admitted to the hospital in Sangli, Smriti's hometown.

“According to the hospital management, Shrinivas's condition is completely stable now, and he is out of danger as well. The doctors also performed angiography, in which they didn't see any blockages, and that relieved the Mandhana family, too,” the report mentioned.

Further added, “Meanwhile, since Smriti's father was admitted, the cricketer's wedding with Palaash was postponed indefinitely, and no additional information related to the new wedding date has been provided by either of the families yet.”

Palaash was admitted to a hospital in Sangli the next day and later transferred to a medical institution in Mumbai. However, it is unclear whether he is still in the hospital or has been discharged.

About the wedding and hospitalisation

On the wedding day, cricketer Smriti Mandhana's father, Shrinivas Mandhana, became ill and was brought to Sarvhit Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Sangli after experiencing heart attack-like symptoms.

Palaash was admitted to a hospital in Sangli the next day. Palaash's mother informed Hindustan Times that Palash is very close to Smriti's father, and when he became ill, Palaash opted not to proceed with the wedding rites until he recovered. Palaash's mother Amita Muchhal shared, “Since haldi was done, we didn’t let him go outside. Rote rote ek dum tabiyat karab ho gai. 4 ghante hospital mein rakhna padha. IV drip chadi, ECG hua aur dosre tests hoye. Sab normal aaye but stress bahut hai (He cried so much that his health suddenly deteriorated. They kept him in the hospital for four hours. He was given an IV drip, an ECG was done, and other tests were carried out. Everything came back normal, but he is under a lot of stress).”

Meanwhile, Smriti has removed all wedding-related images from her Instagram account, raising eyebrows. Smriti and Palaash began dating in 2019. They kept things private for a long time before going public in July 2024, when they shared an anniversary photo celebrating five years together.
