Sonu Sood found himself in legal trouble after the President of the Bengaluru city district unit of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) lodged a police complaint against the singer, saying that his statements had deeply hurt the sentiments of the Kannadiga community during his Bengaluru concert. Now, Nigam has taken to his social media to address the controversy and shared that he loves Kannadigas, but those 4–5 boys were threatening him during the event.

In a video captioned "Just love," Sonu Nigam addressed the controversy and said, "While I was singing my first song, there was a bunch of four to five students who were not demanding but actually threateningly asking me to sing in Kannada. There were many people in the audience who tried to stop them and asked them not to cause disturbance."
