Filmmaker Subhash Ghai has officially commented on the sexual misconduct allegations made against him. The filmmaker claimed that the accusations made against him are completely false and is an attempt to malign his reputation. He also said that his legal team is ready to take legal action against false accusations.
Subhash Ghai vows to take legal action
In an official statement by Ghai, he said, "I want to make it clear that any individual attempting to malign my reputation or my companies and team members through false allegations will be held accountable under the law. Our legal team is prepared to take strict action against any such defamatory attempts."
The statement further said, "If anyone has a genuine grievance, the correct and rightful course is to approach the police or the appropriate legal authorities. Resorting to social media to spread unverified claims for publicity is not only misleading to the public but also unlawful."
About sexual misconduct allegation against Ghai
In an interview with Galatta Plus, actor Nehal Vadoliya claimed that Ghai misbehaved with her during a visit to his residence, where she had accompanied her then-boyfriend, who was working as the filmmaker’s manager. She alleged that what started as a casual evening with wine turned uncomfortable. According to her, Ghai began complimenting her appearance, calling her laugh beautiful and describing her as “very sexy.” She said these remarks, made in the presence of her boyfriend, left her uneasy.
She further alleged that Ghai followed her to the washroom. “As soon as I came out, Subhash ji entered that room. There came a point when he came so close that I was completely shocked. His eyes were closed. When I moved aside, his lips touched my cheek. He kissed me and I told my boyfriend that he was about to kiss me on the lips,” she claimed.
Nehal said the incident left her in shock and also ended her relationship with her boyfriend. “I told him, ‘Where have you brought me? You are his manager, meaning you already knew all these things.’ I broke up with my boyfriend after that. He was not worth trusting,” she said.
