Catches Aditya Chopra's eye, inks a three-film deal with the banner

Despite the lukewarm Aladin, Sujoy Ghosh has caught Aditya Chopra's attention. The director recently inked a three-film deal with Yash Raj Films.

B-Town has been buzzing about the new alliance that has also raised eyebrows considering that Sujoy is extremely frank and forthright, unlike the YRF style of filmmaking.

Says a source, "The Yash Raj folk feel that as he has great potential for his out-of-the-box thinking. And as he is a writer and director it helps even more."

But Sujoy maintains, "Talks are on, nothing is finalised as yet. My script should be ready within a week."
Immediately after Aladin's release in October, Sujoy had stated that he had already begun work on his next script. He wanted to make a film with Vidya Balan.

"I have sounded her but she has to yet read the final draft," informs Sujoy. "The film has a strong female character and is set in Kolkata."

However what has left him fuming even before the film rolls is the buzz doing the rounds that his project is a desi version of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill. "It's not! I don't need to copy scripts. Ideas have not dried up with me. I am trying to make a feasible script in these trying times."

Sujoy Ghosh's films include
*u00a0Aladin (2009)
featuring Big B, Riteish Deshmukh and Jacqueline Fernandes
* Home Delivery (2005) with Vivek Oberoi, Ayesha Takia and Mahima Chaudhary
* Jhankaar Beats (2003) which starred Rahul Bose, Sanjay Suri, Rinke Khanna, Juhi Chawla
