In summer, denim shorts paired with colourful T-shirts or spaghetti tops makes for a perfect attire. Vibrant hued short denims or cotton capris with a light coloured top (white, grey or pink) works best. City-based designer Jhelam Rele of Vismaya Couture, states, "Last year, neon was the trend of the season. But this year, it's seen only in finishing patterns and lining works. Colours in paloma, light blue and pastel shades are doing the rounds. Monochromes are also trending. As the summer will heat up, tank tops will show their presence. Use of fringes in dresses is also trending. Organic fabrics are being introduced which is good for our environment."

Accessories for summer are more of a personal preference as maintaining a look replete with bracelets and neckpieces on a hot day can be tough. But there are still some 'must-haves'. A scarf is perfect for summer and is essential to guard your head from direct sunlight. If you are not a scarf person, go for a funky hat. Oversized floppy hats are perfect for pool parties and on the beach. Sunglasses are not only essential for protecting your eyes but also help you alter your look. In this season, you can experiment with colourful eyewear. You can also go for the retro look. In footwear, go for classic flip-flops and flats. You can also include a pair of wedges in your wardrobe that go well with a flowing frock. Men can experiment with their denims, canvas belts and hats.
