Team India’s fate in the T20 World Cup will be decided tonight as they take on England in the semi-final at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. A massive crowd gathered at the iconic cricket venue to witness the high-voltage clash between India and England. The winner will face New Zealand in the final on Sunday, March 8, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The semi-final began on Thursday evening, with India batting first and posting an impressive total of 258 runs. Among those in attendance were actor-couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, who were accompanied by their daughter, Raha. Adorable moments of the family enjoying the match have gone viral on social media.

Ranbir was seen sporting a clean-shaven look while wearing the Indian team jersey, and little Raha was also dressed in Team India colours.

Actors Varun Dhawan and Anil Kapoor were also seen cheering for team India from the stands. Anil Kapoor was recently seen promoting his latest film Subedaar on Prime Video.

About India-England match

England’s squad, led by captain Harry Brook, arrived with a clear strategy to counter India’s formidable batting and spin attack, especially in subcontinental conditions that traditionally favour turn.

India, on the other hand, will rely on its balanced line-up of explosive batters and disciplined bowlers, hoping to capitalise on home conditions and strong fan support.

Led by Suryakumar Yadav, India has had a strong campaign so far. Barring a 76-run loss to South Africa in their first Super 8 clash, the team has won six of their seven T20 World Cup matches.

After the setback against South Africa, India found themselves in a must-win situation against the West Indies. Thanks to a match-winning unbeaten 97 by Sanju Samson, India secured a comfortable five-wicket victory to seal their semi-final berth.

England, meanwhile, have also won six of their seven T20 World Cup 2026 matches and are currently on a five-match winning streak. However, some of their victories were hard-fought. They narrowly avoided defeat against Nepal and looked uncertain against Pakistan in the Super 8 stage, except for captain Harry Brook’s performance. England’s only loss came against the West Indies during the group stage.
