Following the release and overwhelming response of Thamma, filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar has now sparked fresh buzz around Maddock's Horror-Comedy Universe. Recently, he dropped a major hint about the return of Kriti Sanon’s character from Bhediya to the universe. His comments hinted that Dr. Anika’s story which ended with her fall from the cliff in the film may have a new twist to it. 

Aditya Sarpotdar hints at Kriti Sanon's return


During obe of his recent interviews, Aditya was questioned about Kriti’s character, who was beleived to be dead in Bhediya, and if the character could return in future installments of the Maddock Universe. The filmmaker's cryptic yet exciting response quickly grabbed eyeballs. Responding to the question, Aditya smiled and said, “Amar made that film and it clearly took that film to a closure. You saw Anika fall from the cliff and she fell down. But you didn’t see where she fell. You can imagine where she must have gone and if she will come or not. If you think she will come, you never know."



Further praising Kriti’s acting prowess, he said, “I think Kriti is a fantastic actress. And I do feel that this universe is made of very good actresses.”

Aditya's sly hint has sparked curiosity among fans who have been eagerly waiting to see the next projects in Maddock’s interconnected horror-comedy universe. It allone that began with Stree and later expanded with Bhediya followed by Munjya and now Thamma. Kriti played the role of Anika, a mysterious and layered character who has supernatural powers in Bhediya alongside Varun Dhawan. Her portrayal left a lasting impact.

Interestingly, during an interview with Bollywood Hungama letely, Bhediya direcetor Amar spoke about the 2022 film saying, "When we made Bhediya, we could have made him bigger and stronger. But we had seen that a lot in the films of the West and I didn’t want to repeat it. Also, it didn’t fascinate me then. Our story was about animals saving the forest and hence, Bhediya should be like any other creature."

The filmmaker also spoke revealed how Varun reacted to his cameo in Ayushmann and Rashmika's recent release Thamma, saying, "He’s very happy and putting pressure on me to make Bhediya 2 soon." Further sharing an update on Bhediya 2, Amar said, "We can’t make it unless we are excited with the script, and only then can we take things forward. However, I assure you that it won’t take much time now."
