A biopic of hockey wizard Dhyan Chand has been in the pipeline for close to a decade, what with Shah Rukh Khan and even Varun Dhawan were said to be playing the ace centre forward, with cricket icon Mahendra Singh Dhoni producing it. However, Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies has announced that it would produce the biopic. Abhishek Chaubey, of 'Udta Punjab', 'Ishqiya' and the latest being 'Sonchiriya' fame, would direct it, and Premnath Rajagopalan is co-producer.

The film on the hockey legend to go on floors in 2021. Being written for over a year by Supratik Sen and Abhishek, the duo has finally zeroed in on the screenplay. The casting is underway and a top star is expected to come on board to play the titular role.
