Urmila Matondkar recalls iconic dance numbers from Rangeela: ‘Sarojji said I should’ve also been credited as choreographer’

As ‘Rangeela’ re-releases today after 30 years, Urmila Matondkar reflects on the movie’s timeless quality and how she choreographed some portions of its iconic songs

Some images of Rangeela (1995) remain iconic even today, 30 years after its release. “It’s thrilling because it shows that people never forget such timeless movies,” says Matondkar of the film that has been restored by Ultra Media and is re-releasing today.
