Vijay Sethupathi is a well-known face of Tamil cinema. With his villain act in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Jawan' and his romantic-mysterious lead in Sriram Raghavan's 'Merry Christmas', has surely garnered him a lot more fans from the Northern belt as well. Last year, Vijay was also seen in a prominent role in the Hindi web series 'Farzi'. In 'Merry Christmas', the actor was paired with Katrina Kaif for the first time.
Before the release of 'Merry Christmas', Vijay Sethupathi was seen talking about his movies and life in multiple interviews. However, during these rounds of interviews he decided to free himself of the label of being simple. During a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, fan adored Setupathi for his simplicity which led to the actor clarifying, "People say that [I am simple]. It’s not accurate.” He said, “I dress comfortably. I could even wear a blazer,” gesturing towards his peach shirt. “I chose this attire today because it’s comfortable, not for simplicity. What I’m wearing is actually expensive.”

Dismissing the notion that he is a simple person, Sethupathi added, “People perceive me as simple, but it’s not true. If I feel at ease, I could even emulate James Bond. Please, I don’t want this simplicity label,” he concluded with a warm smile, eliciting laughter from Katrina as well.
Meanwhile, lauding his co-star Katrina Kaif during the promotions of the film, Vijay said, "I never expected I’ll work with Katrina Kaif. I’m a very big fan of Katrina. I was very happy when I saw her on the first day and I couldn’t express (my happiness). She is a very thoughtful actor. She has so many questions. She thinks a lot. She is very dedicated. She comes up with an idea and she is ready to adapt. Even if she can’t accept your thoughts, she will listen to you. She will put in a lot of effort to make a scene better. That’s why she is in the industry not only because she is beautiful but also because she is sensible. Just on the basis of beauty you can’t survive for so long. There should be sense and understanding. I felt it when I was working with her.”
