Actor Varun Dhawan was seen cheering for Team India from the stands at Wankhede Stadium during the semi-final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The actor was seated alongside fellow actor Anil Kapoor in the packed stadium as fans witnessed a thrilling semi-final clash between India national cricket team and England cricket team, with India securing a spot in the finals.

Varun Dhawan gets mobbed at Wankhede


After the match ended, a massive crowd was seen exiting the stadium. Varun Dhawan was surrounded by fans wanting selfies as he stepped out and walked toward his car. Visuals of the actor dealing with the unruly crowd soon surfaced on social media.



Several people hounded Varun and attempted to click selfies with him. The actor appeared visibly irritated as he quickly made his way toward his vehicle. However, when a fan tried to force a selfie by pushing his phone close to the actor’s face, Varun attempted to snatch the phone and gave the fan a stern look before leaving.

Celebrities celebrate India’s win

Celebrations erupted across the country after Team India registered a thrilling win against England in the semi-final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.

Following the victory, congratulatory messages poured in on social media from several Bollywood celebrities applauding the team’s performance.

Actor Suniel Shetty took to Instagram to share his excitement, praising players including Sanju Samson, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, and Axar Patel for their performance.

Actor Raveena Tandon also celebrated the victory with family and friends and shared the moment online, while Kareena Kapoor Khan and Anupam Kher congratulated the team on social media.

Interestingly, several celebrities were present at the stadium for the high-voltage match. Ranbir Kapoor attended the game with Alia Bhatt and their daughter Raha, while Varun Dhawan and Anil Kapoor were also seen cheering from the stands.

India secured a thrilling seven-run victory in the high-scoring encounter. Despite India posting 253/7 in the first innings, England fell just seven runs short after a brilliant century by Jacob Bethell.

India will now face New Zealand national cricket team in the final on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat.
