She also appeared in a number of advertisements before bagging the lead role in &#39;Vicky Donor&#39;.u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   &quot;Getting into films was not a cakewalk. I stopped doing TV because I was not happy with my roles. Then I started doing advertisements and was noticed. The casting director of &#39;Vicky Donor&#39; approached me after spotting me in one of the ads and I auditioned for the part.u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   I had to undergo a number of screen tests and was then finalised to play Ashima,&quot; she said. The film also stars VJ-turned-actor Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami said that the actor is an introvert in real life contrary to his on-screen image.u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   &quot;Me and Ayushmann have a wonderful chemistry in the film as we knew each other and we both hail from Chandigarh. On-screen he may have this naughty image but off-screen he is an introvert. There were no pranks played on the set but we had a lot of fun shooting the film,&quot; she said.u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   &#39;Vicky Donor&#39; is based on the concept of sperm donation and infertility but the actress said that although it deals with a serious subject, it is very much a commercial film.u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   &quot;It is a very commercial film but has been given a realistic treatment. The film has got an U/A certificate and that proves that it is fun and entertaining,&quot; she said.u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   Bollywood hunk John Abraham has turned producer with this film and Yami said that he never interfered while shooting and let Shoojit do his work. &quot;John used to drop by at the sets. He is one of the most reserved producers that I have ever seen. He never interfered. He knew where to draw the line. He is a very down-to-earth and made me and Ayushmann feel comfortable,&quot; she said.u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   Yami has also made her presence felt down south by starring in Kannada film &#39;Ullasa Utsaha&#39; and Telugu film &#39;Nuvvila&#39;. &quot;I am not averse to starring in films down south as long as the offer and role is decent.
