Actress Nikita Rawal has criticised Ranbir Kapoor over his old remark about eating beef, saying the comment is incompatible with portraying Lord Ram in the upcoming film Ramayana. Referring to the actor's years-old statement, Nikita questioned the casting choice and called for an apology, arguing that public figures playing revered mythological characters should be mindful of the sentiments attached to them.

Speaking about the controversy to Bollywood Mascot, Nikita said, "It is an insult to Lord Ram." She added that while actors are free to make personal choices in their lives, portraying a figure worshipped by millions comes with added responsibility and sensitivity.
