Yami Gautam

Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar are currently among the most adored couples in Bollywood. Yami wowed audiences and critics with her stellar performance in Haq, while Aditya delivered the blockbuster Dhurandhar, which was released on December 5, and is busy breaking records at the box office. It has emerged as one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time, collecting over Rs 1,000 crore worldwide.

Almost a month after release, the spell Part 1 cast is lingering. From the protagonist to the antagonist, Dhurandhar has hit the right spots, as the characters, dialogues and soundtrack are trending across social media platforms. The audience is eagerly waiting for Part 2 of Dhurandhar, which is set for release in March 2026.

In an old interview with News18 Showsha, before Dhurandhar went on floors, Yami Gautam revealed what she told Aditya after reading the script.

Yami Gautam's reaction upon reading the script

The moment Yami first read the script, she wished she had been a man, finding the script and its worldbuilding so amazing that she desperately wanted to be a part of it.

Yami said, "When I read his next script, I told him that it was one of those rare moments when I wished I was a guy. The script is so brilliant. It's such an amazing world."

However, despite her wish to act in the film, Yami did not expect Aditya to cast her because the power couple maintains a clear boundary between their professional and personal lives. Yami elaborated, "Regardless, I don't have that expectation. We respect that professional line. I don't think that line should be blurred. We're very clear about it."

She went on to add, "If he feels that somebody else is a better fit for a part that he's writing, I would be absolutely fine with it. This understanding was there since the very beginning," showing that they navigate their personal lives with ease by not interfering in their respective professions.

About Dhurandhar

Released worldwide on December 5, the film stars Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, and Arjun Rampal in prominent roles.

The film has been produced by Dhar and his brother Lokesh Dhar through their banner B62 Studios alongside Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios.

Inspired by real events, it follows an Indian spy who infiltrates Pakistani gangs to extract information about potential attacks on India.

Part 2 of the film is set to arrive in March 2026. It will have a box office clash with Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown Ups and Adivi Sesh's Dacoit.
