WHO: Raveena Tandon WHAT: Talking about her new interests in life WHERE: Carter Road, Bandra Kathak, karate, interior decoration, social work, acting, there's a lot that keeps Raveena Tandon busy. And also happy. Dressed in a green dress on a drizzling Sunday morning, Ravs says, "I am living my life queen size. It's fuller and happier than it ever was." And we don't doubt her. Next to be seen in a Bengali film, Laboratory, the lady has lost oodles of weight, sports a lovely glow and looks totally on top of things. She tells CS all about her new interests during her sabbatical from films: Social work <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2010/jul/raveena.jpg" align="right" border="2" />Though I was always interested in social work, I am able to devote more time to it now. I am associated with PETA, UNICEF and the White Ribbon Alliance, of which I am the brand ambassador. Most of these causes relate to women and kids. In August, I am planning to visit some villages in the interiors as a part of White Ribbon's Alliance programmes for safe motherhood. It feels great to be able to make some difference, however small or big, in people's lives. Reviving ties At the peak of my career, I had around 35 films on hand, and hardly got any time to devote to family or friends. I missed out on joyous occasions like weddings, child births, reunions, etc due to incessant shootings, travel, press meets, etc. But now, I have enough time for a lazy afternoon lunch with my gal pals or for a long holiday with my entire family. A few days back, I met up with some really old friends; their spouses and kids bonded wonderfully with my family. Creative designs I have shifted around five houses in the past few years. And I renovated each one of them. So, interior decoration is a sort of passion with me. In fact, my friends also include a large circle of plumbers, carpenters, kariyawalas (laughs out loud). I love reading up on interiors, shopping for my home, and helping people with ideas. In fact, I made a country pub kind of bar and fireplace setting in my penthouse some time back. Considering my experience and interest in interiors, it might just become an alternative profession.u00a0 Learning moves I have restarted my Kathak classes, as I've been learning it sporadically since childhood. Hopefully this time it will continue for a longer period. I'm also learning karate with my kids. I have a brown belt and it's nice to reacquaint myself with the exercise. I had put on around 30 kgs after both my pregnancies, and these are fun ways to shape up.
