Sofia Vergara was missing from the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday. Following her absence, the actress revealed on social media, that she couldn't attend the event after a sudden medical emergency forced her to seek treatment. Notably, the Modern Family star was expected to present the award for Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie; however, due to her emergency, she was replaced on stage by Hunting Wives stars Malin Akerman and Brittany Snow.

Following the ceremony, Vergara took to her social media to talk about her absence. The actress shared details of her unexpected visit to the emergency room and revealed she was dealing with a severe eye allergy just before leaving for the Peacock Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. Sharing a photo of her eye along with other videos from the hospital. “Didn't make it to the Emmys but made it to the ER," she captioned it. “Sorry I had to cancel! Craziest eye allergy right before getting in the car!," she added.

As her replacement, Akerman and Snow presented the Emmy for Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie to Stephen Graham for his role in Netflix’s Adolescence. Interestingly, the psychological drama was among the night’s biggest winners, taking home six more awards, including Best Limited or Anthology Series.

Meanwhile, in the main categories, The Pitt won Outstanding Drama Series, and The Studio claimed the Outstanding Comedy Series. Seth Rogen, co-creator of The Studio, won multiple accolades across acting, directing, and writing categories. Other notable winners of the night included The Pitt with three wins, and Severance and Hacks, winning two awards each.
