J-Hope reveals the story behind his tattoo
Hope previously posted a TikTok video dancing to the viral hook step on CORTIS' Go!, but fans spotted the fresh new inks on the singer's leg, and he has finally revealed the secret behind them. Taking to Weverse, the BTS member explained the actual purpose behind his tattoos and how they are so unique and lyrical.
Hope explained in Korean, "I got a tattoo on my leg. I believe many individuals were startled. But, frankly, I've been thinking about it for a while. With my own two feet, in the life I've been living for over thirty years, I wanted to record meaningful phrases and crucial occurrences on my legs, and that became a big reason."
He went on to say, "In that sense, the words 'I am your hope, you are my hope' are meaningful to me and to all of us. So I decided to get the tattoo because I thought writing that on my legs would give me a new feeling of determination."
J-Hope's new tattoo is deeply personal and dedicated to the ARMYs, making them emotional. It represents how he lives for his followers to promote happiness, as he is fittingly known as the "sunshine" of BTS, bringing smiles and brightening up the faces of his fans with his energy.
V and J-Hope common tattoo
Notably, this is the artist's second visible tattoo, following the "7" he had inked above his Achilles tendon in 2022. Interestingly, all BTS members share the design, which represents their unbreakable friendship. Unlike the group's collective tattoo, J-hope's latest ink feels highly personal to him, serving as an emblem of the identity he's constructed as "the hope" of BTS.
