The organisation, The Recording Academy, known for presenting the annual Grammy Awards, recently introduced a new category, ‘Best Asian Pop Music Performance’. K-Pop fans were waiting to see groups representing Korea on the global stage. However, according to the latest development, BLACKPINK is likely to miss the upcoming awards as they could not submit their latest third mini album DEADLINE. Meanwhile, K-pop groups BTS and Stray Kids have also not submitted their respective music for the 69th Grammy Awards.
BLACKPINK to miss Grammy 2027
BLACKPINK’s latest album, DEADLINE, includes five tracks, namely JUMP, GO, Me and my, Champion, and Fxxxboy. It was released on February 27, 2026. According to the rules of the 69th Grammy Awards, the eligibility period was from August 31, 2025, to August 28, 2026. Despite the timeline, the album could not qualify since JUMP was released as a single on July 11, 2025, and the eligibility period had not started then.
