Ahead of New Year's 2026, BTS frontman RM went live on Weverse and had an open, heartfelt, and passionate conversation that profoundly affected fans. The rapper-producer gave a humorous, vulnerable, and hopeful live stream from his large living room in Seoul, reflecting on a difficult year and looking ahead with cautious optimism. RM's sincere remarks struck a deep chord with ARMYs worldwide, especially because all seven BTS members have now been released from the military and reunion excitement is intensifying.

RM shares a heartfelt confession with ARMY

RM immediately established a cheerful tone during the intimate webcast by making a joke about his "two trees," referring to one actual Christmas tree in his house and the other being himself. Fans laughed as he jokingly asked praise for his adorable appearance. Beneath the humor, though, RM talked about the emotional impact of 2025, describing it as the most difficult year of his life to yet. He hinted at deeper emotional issues when he said that the year was more difficult than merely his June military discharge or working on music.

In addition, RM thanked fans for their presents and acknowledged that his "big, good house" can be lonely at times. In spite of this, he concluded the webcast by wishing everyone a merry and healthy Christmas.

The most poignant part was when RM made an honest and genuine appeal for the coming year. During his live performance, Namjoon stated:  “lets be happy next year. 2026 please be nice to me. Dear 2026 please I'm begging you, please be nice to me. I did what i had do to i serve what i had to serve. DEAR 2026 be nice to me”. His words immediately struck a chord with fans, many of whom praised his honesty and emotional courage.

RM jokes about his dating status

RM joked about his dating status, adding a lighthearted spin amid the feelings, saying, "Single club, Single club, let's gooo Single club everybody," the song said, making the audience laugh once again. Additionally, RM gently alluded to BTS's future, stoking anticipation for a group reunion.

He shared, “For 2026, I think a lot of things will bloom next year… I have that expectation. We’re honestly acting bold/confident because we trust ARMY. I’m still scared though… but I trust you. I believe in you all.”

RM's heartfelt appeal and optimistic perspective have only heightened expectations for what 2026 may hold for BTS and their global fan base, given the group's post-military duty.
